Teachers as Workers Special Interest Group was founded in 2015 to address the working conditions of English language teachers. Within a short time around 200 teachers based all around the world had become members of a Google+ group, sharing experiences and comparing struggles. This website aims to encourage further participation.
ELT (English language teaching) as an industry refuses to deal with the issue of working conditions. Teachers as Workers Special Interest Group puts the working conditions of language teachers first. We believe awareness-raising is the first step towards improving working conditions for ALL teachers. When individuals pool their resources together change can happen.
And we are changing things. (See What our members do.)
This website contains resources and tools for change. We positively welcome your participation.
